2009

In 1986 Dr. David Halverson and then Art Director Rassie Harper got the idea of portraying the life of Christ through Living Art after seeing
the well known Pageant of The Masters in Laguna Beach, CA. They started with just 6 pieces and a vision of what
thousands people from all over the world have come to know and love as The Pageant of Our Lord.
The Pageant of Our Lord takes well known, famous works of art and recreates them; live, on-stage; in a technique known as Tableaux Vivant, using live models posing in carvings, plates,
paintings, and sculptures - hence the name "Living Art". There are about 350 volunteers, including close to 100 models in each season's productions.
Each performance this last year used 59 models appearing in 14 different art pieces. Each piece has anywhere from 2 to 13 live models - some as young as 7 years old!
There are 18 performances in this upcomming season's production featuring original narration, drama, as well as a full orchestra and choir.
The 2009 season runs from March 27th - April 11th, 2009. Tickets go on sale Oct. 1, 2008 and can be purchased at the Pageant of Our Lord web site.
For the last three seasons Carl Tice and three of his children have participated in the Pageant of Our Lord as live models in a
number of pieces, including Calvary, The Well of Moses, Tryptych, Ecce Homo, The Last Supper, Annunciation, and the Lennox Plates.
This last season Carl was King David (The Well of Moses) and as Phillip (The Last Supper). His daughter Rachel is in Calvary (right). His other daughter Natalie was in Calvary (left)
as well as Annunciation (Gabriel - right side), and his son Gregory was in The Lennox Plates (Joseph - Left Plate, right side).
